Privacy Policy

We take the protection of your personal information very seriously and strictly adhere to the rules of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). Personal data is collected on this website for technical purposes only. This means that we only work with anonymous data, if possible. We also use software solutions, such as Piwik (tracking tool), Lime Survey (survey tool) and the contact form, which are installed and run directly from our server. Thus, your data is stored directly on our server. This server is located in Germany and is operated by a German provider (Biohost). Under no circumstances will the data be sold or sent to third parties, other than those listed below (e.g. social network). The following declaration gives you an overview of how we guarantee this protection and what type of data is collected and for what purpose.

Contact Form

If you use our contact form, we will store your name and email address, as well as your message content, in order to reply to any question that you may have. Once this is done, we will delete these details again.

When sending the contact form to introduce your dog, we also contact your name and email address to reply you. Additionally we store the data you give us about your dog. This is basis for the special blog article. Upon completion of this request, we will delete the data again or if there is a legal retention period, block it. Following this retention period, we will delete the data, see §35 BDSG.

Web Analytics

This website uses Piwik, open-source software used for the statistical analysis of user requests. Piwik uses “Cookies”, a text file that is stored on your computer, which allows for the analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookies about your use on this website is stored anonymously on our Biohost host server in Germany. The IP address is anonymised immediately after processing and before storage. Therefore we cannot personally attribute you to the data.
We use the data to improve our service and make it more enjoyable for you. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser, however, we would like to point out, that you may not be able to use all of the features on this website if you do this.

Internet offers from Facebook, Google+ & Co.

To make our internet site user friendly and attractive for our visitors, we offer you the ability to share content with friends on social networks. These platforms can be integrated into sites of Visual Selling by using so-called plug-ins.

This plug-in can have the following effect: When you visit a page with a plug-in for social networks, your browser will establish a direct, short connection with the servers. This is firstly intended to present you with the contents of the plug-in (for example, the friends’ box). In this case, the social network will find out your IP address and other device-related data. In practice, this IP address might not be readily assigned to your name. Under certain circumstances, the social network will store a cookie on your computer that is deleted when you close your browser. In your browser settings you can decide for yourselves whether or not to accept cookies. We will explain that with an…

… example from Facebook:

By integrating the plug-in, Facebook receives the information that a user with a specific IP address at that moment visits the website of “the Smooth Collie”. If you’re logged in at Facebook at the same time your visit at the website of “the Smooth Collie” can be assigned to your Facebook account. In this way you also get shown your friends within this plugin. You can read about the purpose and scope of data collection, the further processing, the use of the data on Facebook, your rights in this respect, in the Privacy Policy on Facebook as well as about modifying your account settings for protecting your privacy.
